The very first time I saw how awful Youtube compression is was when I uploaded my first 4K video and then downloaded back the file. Jesus Christ. I was like watch watching a movie from a DVD ( my file ) and the same movie from a VHS ( the file Youtube served me back ). Google Phtos is also awful. To anyone serious about storing photos and videos to a Google Account is imperative to pay for some storage and pick the option to backup the files in original quality, otherwise Google will destroy the files with its compression. To common users maybe that isn't a issue... But for me that prize way more quality over size it isn't acceptable. I pay for the 2TB storage from Google for storing everything in Google Drive, never in Youtube or Google Photos.

Yeah, I was asked for that. They doesn't understand people who see quality of photos and videos.

ah right, i hadn't seen the original size. what a waste of so much file size for that image quality. compare to say a hegre photo, which is focused and highly detailed.
