Making subtitles is easyt but time consuming, create a text file and name it the same as the video, but set the extension to .en.srt instead of .txt. so "VideoTeenage Marine 237.mp4" has a subtitle file called "VideoTeenage Marine 237.en.srt" in the text file the following format,

00:00:05,500 --> 00:00:10,250
This is the first subtitle.

00:00:11,000 --> 00:00:15,750
This is the second subtitle,
which spans two lines.

The first number is the order of the subtitle, the two times are HH:MM:SS,mil and is the time the text should appear on screen and disappear. put the srt in the same folder as the video file and players like vlc with load them as a selectable option under the right click menu.
