Not allowing VODs to be viewed in her Twitch page vs disabling them altogether are two different things. If she has disabled VODs, which means the stream is not stored live on Twitch's servers, then she cannot upload them anywhere else unless she is recording them herself locally. Up until today she was letting Twitch store those VODs, even though she did not let them be played in her profile. Those are recoverable.

I just hope it's a temporary thing. They can still be recorded but it makes things less convenient...

Interesting. I am sorry i misunderstood your initial message.
How can you tell when someone has them disabled completely?

Not that it makes much difference to me, i am recording things myself anyway.

No worries. I can tell because my scripts stop working and I have to improvise

The problem with recording (I'm assuming you mean screen recording) is potential drop of image quality, depending on the tool you're using you must keep the stream on an active window, and if you're not subscribed you probably get ads. And you gotta be there to turn it on, ofc. If you're late you've missed part of it...

Poking the Twitch servers as long as you get there at worst 5-10 minutes after the stream has ended you can download the whole thing in a couple minutes. And it's the raw transport stream, with no loss of quality and no ad breaks. If you're late and get there after Twitch has processed the stream then you might get silenced parts (for copyright protection). Or not get one at all if the streamer has them set to private.

Anyway, we'll see what happens with the next one. Cheers!

No, i'm not screen recording, nothing like that.
Full quality, no ads, just running in the background, works perfectly.
