the latter unfortunately. Lots of times people rip the thumbnail without realizing there is a much higher quality photo. I think you need to open the photo and view the full size to rip the photos. People do the same when ripping videos. Some say they rip 720p videos instead of source because they are trying to save hard drive space without realizing onlyfans 720p videos are the same file size as the 1080p/source version. Only fans downscales the source vid to 720p but they usually up the framerate from 30 to 60 fps on the 720p conversion so it's the same file size as the higher quality 1080p/source version.

agreed about the images... people do need to learn that grabbing the thumbnail isn't helping anyone.

But people really need to give up on this source version thing with onlyfans. Most of the source videos are simply just 720p... you can look at the codec info. OF isn't artificially making the 720p files bigger. and if you take a 1080p file and scale it down to 720p it's not exactly half the size... so interpolating an extra frame isn't going to make the file sizes magically match.....

OF does the conversion and they have it set up to compress the video to the same file size as the 1080p. It's been shown repeatedly. I realized this sorting files in harddrive and noticed that the 720p and source version of the same video had the same file size. This was on numerous vids too not just a one off. I looked at the codec and the source was 1080p 30 fps and the 720p was 720p with 60fps. There might be a few exceptions to this but for every file where I had both qualities 720p and 1080p/source they were the same size. If the source file is 4k then I'm not sure how the file sizes work out with OF compression. I haven't verified whether the sizes are all different there. Usually the 4k source videos have huge file size jumps.

I believe you... but that's not been my experience. It's super friggin wierd... why would they do that?
Have some examples? I'd love to take a look at them.

One of the first times I noticed was on an Anna paul video where someone shared the 720p version at 324mb file size with resolution 404x720 50 fps and then later someone released the source file and it was the same 324 mb file size but resolution 1080x1920 with 24 fps. Then I went through and saw a bunch of duplicate files with the same file size for 720 and source quality. I was deleting duplicate files when I noticed it. So people downloading the 720p files aren't really saving file space they are just getting lower quality at higher fps.
