some threads were created in a time where they could be locked behind a certain reaction score. Meaning you'd need to post in other threads and gain likes to even view the locked ones. The feature to create these threads was removed, however the threads that were created still have the restrictions. You can gain the reaction score and earn the view, but the users that have access to both tend to keep them parallel anyway. Mods should just merge the threads somehow, or if thats not possible with the site functionality, give notice for users to move over everything and just close the locked ones down. Its kind of annoying, but you're usually not missing anything from the locked ones.
