Where did I go?

I admit this post is long overdue. I have talked about it in Stories and on Patreon (you don’t have to be a paid member to see my statements), but I figured it’s time for a permanent feed post. A few months ago, Youtube unexpectedly and without warning took my channel down. I didn’t receive a single strike or warning… I quite literally woke up and it was gone. I have appealed this and the current status of the appeal is “pending.” In my anecdotal research, I have found it can take many months for a channel to be restored, if at all. At this time, I have not given up hope on getting my channel back.I am still hopeful!

That said, this break from Youtube, while unexpected, has actually brought some positives. As a full time student, I was able to successfully complete my final exams and graduate from my program. I had so much extra mental bandwidth to make straight As! I’m a hopeless optimist so I’ll always try to see the positives.

Now that I’ve graduated, I’ve had some time to think about what comes next. I could always start a new Youtube channel, but this whole experience has left a bitter taste in my mouth for YT. I had a rug ripped out from under me and I’d rather not open myself up to that again… but I’m not sure what the alternatives are yet. I’m always open to your ideas!

Throughout all this, I have remained fully active on Patreon and haven’t slowed down there at all. We have a cozy and sweet community that’s always welcoming of new members. On Patreon, I have so much more freedom to be who I am, dress how I want, and interact with you without worrying about Youtube overlords and algorithms. Patreon is here to stay, even as I envision new platforms for WCW

To close this out, please know that I miss you. I miss your comments, jokes, and encouragement on the channel. I miss celebrating milestones with you. I miss the playlists of great ASMRtists that we often exchanged. Thank you for being willing to search for me after my content disappeared. Thank you for finding me here. Being a Youtuber, for all its flaws, was a huge honor and something I’m so glad I did. I wouldn’t have wanted to do it with any other community. xoxo.
