My bad, you're correct. As long as the creator has supplied Patreon with a VAT ID it is only applied to members payment and in no way added on the creator.

If she's earning over £90k then she needs to register for and charge VAT. If patreon are a merchant of record for her, they'll collect and pay the VAT. BUT HMRC might come for her for VAT anyway.
