I don't get this error, the downloader is working fine for me.
I'm also working on a better downloader but it will be for personal use.

If you're recording many lives and don't use a VPN, you're fucked.
You will get rate limited sometimes and there's nothing you can do about it except wait or get a VPN.

I don't know if this is the best thread to post this in but i genuinely didn't find any other platform to post it in.

I made an app using ChatGPT and Claude AI for capturing BIGO LIVE streams and record them without any restrictions and boundaries. I don't know the first thing about coding so i just gave me inputs and started designing it from there on. Till now what I know is that the app uses FFMPEG, Python, Streamlink, Node.Js to run however due ot frequent power cuts and PC crashes my app suddenly started behaving weirdly. I had been using it and updating/ working on it since 4-6 months and wanted to push it out to SMG once i was satisfied with it but as I know nothing about coding or its working I cannot handle it anymore in terms of making it better.

Issue I am having are:
1- The app runs on heavy duty mode where lots and lots of bat files open up for each streamer and due to power cut and my small power connection I am unable to close the app in time and shut down my PC (the main reason my app became defective)
2- I have made around 10-12 different versions of the app using ChatGPT after the issues but none of them work properly.
3- I have uninstalled and re-installed python, streamlink, ffmpeg. node,js afresh but still the issue persists.
4- The app used to previously run for 40-50 streamers at once and record them whenever they came on live but now it hardly catches one livestream.
5- In my place I use a VPN to run the app (have been using it since I initially built the app and worked fine till now) and have also uninstalled and re-installed it but still no improvement.

I know that this sounds like I am just asking for help but genuienly i don't know what to do other than ask some of you. If you can please take a look at it. In here I am uploading the latest stable Build I have (i.e., Build 4.5) and the last stable build (i.e., Build CY) along with the main BAT file that started it all. If any of you can solve it or have any queries about it let me know I will help you to the best of my abilities, just remember i built it using AI and don't have any real coding knowledge so don't go asking me the technical stuff!

SandyMarkus1 So recording Bigo is very easy.
You hit the livecheck endpoint (with POST request !) and it returns the live source that you then use ffmpeg to record with the options you want.
Where it gets tricky is rate limiting. Bigo rate limits heavily. You have to design your tool in order to not getting rate limited.
You could make 1 request every 60 seconds, but then at 60+ streamers, they'll be checked after more than 1 minute.
Because the important part is to make a "queue", not hammer the endpoint with concurrent requests that will quickly trigger the rate limit error.
The basic tool created by Hed0ne didn't care about that (of course since it was designed for a few streamer, getting more than 1 request/sec was fine in most cases) So if you opened multiple bat at the same time, you could have multiple requests/sec if they overlap.
Regarding the VPN use, yes, it's mandatory.
Keep in mind I was myself using a VPN, but some IPs were already rate limited / banned by Bigo before I even started recording.
So if you have more than 1 request per second and a lot of streamers, you WILL trigger Bigo's rate limit error.

thanks for the response, i don't know coding at all, so i copied and pasted your response to chatgpt so that it can understand and give me a fresh new build with your ideas included. if it works i will let you know and share the final app in here, i just hope someone here makes an even better fix because ai can only do so much. thanks tho!! :PepePerfect:

Same problem! I found out on another forum that it's the platform's new anti-bot system. I did a new update that retrieves browser cookies, so you need to log in.
But even so, it still fails many times.

its because if u try to view them on browser there is no stream but in a new fresh browser u can watch them
 
Yes they made changes to the web version that prevents getting the stream URL in a consistent way. (Sometimes it works, but most of the time it returns an empty hls_src)
This is because a browser "identity" is now required.
I already fixed it for me and it works. It's not an easy fix so I won't bother trying to explain it here.
But if you're interested, you can always check this person's open PR which I think summarize the issue and provide a fix for Streamlink.

identifica que esta online, mas nao pega a live!! pega alguma coisa, antes de dar erro, mas se eu estou com o navegador aberto e com a live aberta, inviavel assim

Se mesmo com o cookie continuar needLogin: true, é sinal de que a Bigo passou a exigir um token gerado dinamicamente por JavaScript (assinatura anti-bot) que muda a cada requisição — nesse caso, cookie estático não resolve, e teria que ser vinculado à API antiga de token que virou obsoleta.
