It appears that access to onlyfans section is restricted to those who accumulate enough points in order. The risk with this is the threads hidden behind those walls will likely suffer. I noticed when I was active in other forums that they implemented a similar system but on a wider scale. In order to get access to the the bulk of the forum, you needed to first get out of "the pit" by posting something interesting. However, the result was that the only thread that was frequently updated and interacted with was The Pit. The rest of the forum was much much quieter. This is because of the following:
- 10,000 start of in the public location, 10 people in the private location
- ~2-5% of people are active posters while a significantly higher percentage of people comment in the chats and replies. Chats and replies don't get nearly the same percentage as likes as the poster.
- Then 10,000 have access to the public location, 600 have access to the private location. While 600 have access, it doesn't mean that all 600 regularly chat in the same types of threads or have the same interests. Most threads now only have a fraction of a fraction of their original support.
- Private location doesn't have the same quantity of engagement and chats because there are far fewer people so those threads become less active.
- Ultimately, many people in private locations ignore the private locations because that's not where the action is. The threads in the private location then suffer and wither away.
This is what happened with Blank Forum. This happens in other forums as well. Engagement goes down in walled off areas because there's less people. Since there's less people everyone eventually ignores those threads.
This is what I suspect will happen. Maybe I'm wrong, what's everyone's thoughts on that?
