This rule implies that conversation is allowed. Additionally, the rule concerning Spam:

6) No spamming.
What is considered as spam?
Anything which is posted repeatedly will be considered as spam. Unapproved filehosts, posting multiple requests, not using comments section to make comments, posting same links repeatedly, self promotion in outside of self promotion section.

"Not using comments section to make comments" implies that the comment section is for commenting, and conversation is not considered spam.

You should not see comment updates necessarily as new content. If you do, your annoyance is entirely on you.
