Off Topic How can you make screencaps?

Very simple question. In a lot of threads i see screencaps that show what is in the video so you dont have to download it. For example in the Kat Wonders thread. How can i make this myself?

What may help is whether you use Windows/Mac/Other. Personally I use FFMPEG which can create a collage of screenshots.
