Hi guys,
Do you know if it exists any Instagram external site (or any chrome extension) whick allow to download IG post in 1800x1440 resolution?
Until two weeks ago "mystalk" allowed to do that, but it also switched to 1350x1080 standard resolution :(

Do you know if mystalk somehow found a way to access 1800x1440 pictures stored by Instagram or did they simply resize the standard resolution? If they resized it, you could do that yourself, for example with Topaz Gigapixel AI (with their free trial). True high resolution would be better of course, but all ways I've found so far are also in standard resolution.

I'm not 100% sure since I was just downloading from mystalk.net, but I think your first hypothesis is the most probable. As you can see from an old saved photo, the quality doesn't seems "scaled":

After some searching I found this old Reddit thread which seems to support that hypothesis: https://www.reddit.com/r/Instagram/comments/j8nt82/download_picture_in_highest_quality/

Unfortunately there is no detail how mystalk did this. In the lower resolution link NasmodorN posted on Reddit the link contains ".../p1080x1080/..." whereas this reference to the resolution is not present in the link for the higher resolution. The intuitive next step of simply removing that part of the URL to get the higher resolution resolves to a site saying "URL signature mismatch". In the two links posted by him other sections of the URL also don't match, so obviously if there is a higher resolution image stored somewhere by Instagram they're not making it easy to access.

I just use Instantgram. You drag the js function to your favorites bar and click on it while you have an IG picture or video open, including stories. Gets updated fairly quickly after IG changes their code. It's not at 1440, but its very easy to use.
