Off Topic Is all social media dead? (are there better alternatives?)

I've recently deleted most of my social media. I've only kept on the one that, if you don't have it, people think you're dead or you're thinking of killing yourself if you delete it.
The last one I deleted is Reddit, that place is dead as far as I'm concerned.

It's a combination of things: dead internet, astroturfing, platforms legitimating certain kinds of speech and de-legitimizing others, mods being repressed assholes, and the constant conflict with people for the most meaningless shit.

I also found that in the past Social Media used to be a lot more useful, now it's just a way of killing time. Finding salient information is made deliberately difficult and sacrificed over what's hot in this moment.
Using this forum kind of reawakened in me the old internet, where people had fun and were helpful to one another. Granted, we're talking about porn here, but it used to be like this in pretty much all kinds of spaces.

Do you know of better alternatives to the mainstream internet 2.0 shithole?

Depends on what you’re looking for. This forum is a beacon of hope outside of the heavy moderation which is absolutely needed on a porn forum.

Other forums exist for niche topics. Nothing that’s mainstream social media tho. Twitter is good for fringe “conspiracy” in the same way TicToc is. The days of raw internet is bygone unless you make your way into the darknet, which can be dangerous water.
