HI! Wasnt sure where else to ask this, so my apologies if this isnt the place, but how does one send a direct message? I understand that some people have the feature turned off, but I hovered over a lot of different users names and didnt see the options anywhere at all. Thanks in advance

click on profile name, then send direct message

I'm getting 'new post' notifications for threads, but those people have blocked me! LOL Can y'all fine tune this? It used to work well with 'Ignored' members.

This.
Somebody who blocked basically everybody else in a specific thread keeps posting, but nobody can see their posts... yet we get the notification for it every few days.
You can still block them if you just add /ignore to their user page URL, but it's a bit weird.

Okay, so I must say I loved the changes to the forum in theory, but some stuff happened and it made me realise that the new two-way blocking system sucks ass. Twice now I got blocked for leaving a comment under a post and pointing out it's breaking the rules or that the content is fake. I tend to do that instead of straight away reporting somebody, especially when I'm not sure if they're knowingly breaking the rules and stuff. But... now I literally can't report a post in any way because the author blocked me and poof, every single post of theirs is invisible. I'm not sure if it's intended or just a side effect of the change, but I wish this two-way system gets removed/reversed for the reason I pointed out alone.

EDIT: another problem with this feature is people reposting same shit endlessly because they got blocked by OP and can't see that it's already posted. Happening right now on marlingyoga thread

I really hope it doesn't get removed. It's probably my favourite forum update... There are too many whiny little so and sos who like nothing better than to trash other peoples' uploads, sometimes to the point where the uploader eventually says 'sod it, I can't be bothered with this anymore' and stops sharing, leading to thread death. Far better that the uploader blocks those f*ckwits so that they lose all access to the uploader's posts and then everyone else can go about enjoying the threads...

Can confirm. I had hundreds of accounts in my ignored list.

Ignoring en-mass was the only way the marlingyoga thread was tolerable for me. The constant begging for gofile and new updates was obnoxious.

Now that “ignore” became “block” I’m not about to unblock any of them. My list is simply too long, and I don’t care what they have to say, since all they’ve ever done is beg. But I also know they can’t see my recent posts, and are spamming the comments, trying to understand what’s going on. Must be annoying for everyone else in the thread that hasn’t blocked the same people I have.

I used to ignore users who spam low quality content to avoid constant notifications from them, while still being able to read their posts when visiting a thread. Occasionally they do contribute something useful. Ignored replies were hidden and could be shown with a single button, which worked well imo. By doing this, instead of being notified for every post, their activity was effectively bundled until someone else replied.

But that's only replies inside a thread. As far as I can tell, when looking for new threads, entire threads are hidden if they were started by blocked users. This makes it impossible to see or access new threads, which I don't think I need to verbalize why that's bad.

Please restore the “show ignored or blocked” button.

Did they remove the option to delete comments?

Yes. Not one of their better decisions, but what can you do...?

Also when you post, so if you make an error that can't be fixed with a quick edit, you're screwed

It makes sense though, because some schizos go apeshit when they delete their account, get warnings etc. This is so they don't just easily remove all their posts.

block feature was the dumbest thing implement ever. now user blok u and you are still in same thread but will never be able to see content but u will still get spammed with notifications. and for what are most of users blocking other because they don't like you "negative" comments on post or u put emoji that they don't like...

I disagree. It works well to weed out the members that don't provide anything to the forum.
If douchebags are going to do nothing but spam dislike/shit reactions on every post, obviously they don't like what I share, so im doing them a favor by not having them see it.

I have no problem with using dislike/shit/clown reactions to posts that provide no content or are reposts. But the clowns that dislike every new post on threads, while contributing nothing to the forum, don't deserve to see shit.

The block feature is honestly one of the best things this site has added. There are a lot of users who either mass-dislike posts, treat others with disrespect, or dont add anything to a thread, and removing them from your experience makes the forum much more enjoyable.

If somebody blocks you, you also shouldn't get notifications that they posted in a thread, imo that's the only annoyance with the current system and it seems like unintentional behaviour/a bug.

I put someone on block days ago, and they can still see my posts somehow and left a clown for something that didn't ask for it at all. There is clearly some kind of workaround or flaw in the system. I personally haven't been getting notifications of people I've blocked, and I didn't get a one for that emoji.

Also you can still see that someone is replying to a blocked person, and they can still see that others are replying to you. That means they still see your exact name, copy it and search it. (I even have my profile privacy set to 'Nobody' when comes to viewing my profile, and they're blocked on top of it.)

*I just tried the search function to search their name while they are still blocked, and that showed me their posts. (clicking the post just takes you to the page but doesn't show the posts.) Maybe they can still do the same even though they are blocked, though I don't see how they are leaving emojis through that. You can still see people's posts that way when their profile is set to limited by just searching their name. Whatever is going on, it needs to be patched please. I appreciate the Block function but it's not 100% troll proof. They can still see your name when someone replies to you, search your name, read your posts, and somehow leave an emoji.

I agree with you and the others, people who mass clown/negative react and shit post are annoying. People who beg and bump threads (whether they contribute or not) are also annoying. But, shouldn't the mods step in?

Yeah, there seem to be some overlooked loopholes. My guess would be the AJAX prompts for reactions doesn't have a check if the user is blocked.
The search function for a specific member's posts only gives me their comments.

I think all negative emojis were never necessary and it does the opposite of keeping the place respectful, which is part of the rules. I don't need a troll account to follow me just to leave clowns and shit every time I post something normal, and block doesn't even stop them from doing it. Without those emojis they would just be forced to just keep scrolling like they should have in the first place. Or get it over with and talk shit in text so they can face the consequences.

8) Be respectful to other members.

Also, there are accounts here where their whole thing is to troll by going from thread to thread and talking shit about the way the girl looks, 'this fucking bitch is ugly', which derails the thread. They aren't breaking the rules, but their whole thing is just shitting up the place and they never contribute anything of course, trolls never do. Eventually members have enough and say some shit to them, as it's normal for humans to get tired of annoying humans and eventually respond, and they are the ones that get banned. That's where blocking instead, helps, but, wish it was a 100% thing.

I am experiencing a weird issue where post aren´t sorted by date correctly in a thread were I made a post yesterday. I even double posted, because I didn´t see my original post show up. Turns out it was placed higher than some older posts.
